Aaron Smith Horsemanship

Meet Aaron

Originally from beautiful Idaho, Aaron began starting colts and competing over 17 years ago on his family's cutting horse operation and ranch.  His many experiences have taken him from secluded cow camps deep in the Idaho mountains to success in the cutting horse, reined cow horse and roping show arenas.

Aaron has studied under many great horseman - including Martin Black, Doug Jordan and John Flood.   His greatest teacher, however, has been the horse.

Great respect and love for the Spanish Vaquero lifestyle and horse training art form, has shaped Aaron's training methods.  The dynamics of herd behavior is a key element in how Aaron approaches the horse.  His natural herd-based training methods are proven and extremely effective in producing a well rounded horse with a solid foundation that will translate into any discipline.
